Description:

Your SCTC password is used in combination with your SCTC username to login to your desktop computer, email, and other services such as TigerNet. Other department specific programs, such as Banner, will have a seperate username and password.

Benefits and Features:

When used with your SCTC username, you will access to all network resources at the college. Some of these resources include your dekstop or laptop computer, email, Tigernet, TigerCloud, Banner Reports, and other network based services. It is important that you protect your password and do not share it with anyone else in order to protect not only your electronic information but the security of the SCTC network.

Important Notes

  • All employees are encouraged to register at https://selfservice.sctech.edu so you can self reset your password in it expires or you forget your password.
  • Password expire every 45 days
  • Password expiration notices will be emailed 7 days prior to expiration until the password has been changed

  • Must be used in combination with your SCTC username
  • Passwords expire every 45 days
  • Password must adhere to the complexity requirements


Get Started:

Your SCTC password is generated when the IT department receives your user account request from HR so you do not need to request one. You new account information will be emailed to your supervisor.

Password Requirements

  • Minimum password length: 8 characters (can contain more)
  • Passwords cannot contain parts of your account name or your full name that exceed two consecutive characters
  • Your previous 5 passwords are invalid and cannot be re-used
  • Passwords must contain one character from at least three of the following four categories:
    • English uppercase alphabet characters (A–Z)
    • English lowercase alphabet characters (a–z)
    • Base 10 digits (0–9)
    • Non-alphanumeric characters ( !@#$%^&*()-_+=;:´"}{[]|`~))
  • You must change your password every 45 days. Starting 7 days before your password expiration date, you'll receive a daily email with instructions to change your password. If you do not change your password within the 7 day window, your account will be restricted until your password is changed.

To change your password or recover a forgotten password, please visit https://selfservice.sctech.edu and follow the on screen instructions to change your password.

Tip

When changing your passowrd, do not forget to update your password saved on any mobile devices that access email.
